New CME Sponsor Offers More CME Hours

The Professional Education Unit of the Cancer Detection Section is pleased to announce that we have completed our first series of courses with the University of California – Davis as our continuing medical education co-sponsor. When UC-Davis agreed to co-sponsor the Clinical Breast Examination: Proficiency and Risk Management training course in January 2008, a review of the program content resulted in their approving our program for six hours of CME credit rather than five. This is a much appreciated bonus for CDP: EWC primary care clinicians who attend the training. Since January, CDS has conducted CBE Courses in Los Angeles, San Jose, San Diego and Fresno; 63 clinicians have improved their CBE skills to help in the early detection of breast cancer. Courses will begin again in September, 2008. To see the schedule, go to the CBE Course Schedule & Registration page. Posted: June 2008
