Suzanne Lindsay, PhD, MSW, MPH

Suzanne Lindsay, PhD, MSW, MPH, is a Research Assistant
Professor of Public Health in the Division of Epidemiology
and Biostatistics in the Graduate School of Public Health
at San Diego State University, and Director of the
Institute for Public Health. Dr. Lindsay's primary
area of research interest is in issues related to Maternal,
Child, and Women's Health (MCW). She has directed and
participated in the design and implementation of research
and evaluation studies in a wide variety of content
areas including: 1) breast and cervical cancer screening
and diagnosis, 2) family violence prevention, 3) sexual
assault, 4) teen substance abuse prevention, 5) child
abuse and neglect, 6) HIV/AIDs prevention, 7) chronic
disease prevention, 8) teenage pregnancy prevention,
9) tobacco education, and 10) infant morbidity and mortality.
She has extensive experience in the research and evaluation
of geographically distributed health and social service
programs, including the development of multi-site research
and evaluation management information systems. Dr. Lindsay
is also committed to the development of distance learning
strategies to improve public health practice within
our communities. Dr. Lindsay is the Principal Investigator
of the Center for Cancer Quality Assurance and Professional Education.
