The State of California requires that doctors give a copy of this booklet to patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It is a valuable guide, intended to help a woman become an informed partner in making choices with her healthcare team. The guide was developed by the Cancer Detection Section, California Department of Public Health.
Please Note: In compliance with California SB 1851, it is no longer required for the booklet to be given prior to biopsy. The current booklet entitled "A Woman's Guide to Breast Cancer Treatment" no longer covers breast biopsy.
